Pakistani TV actress Iffat Omar on Tuesday tendered an apology for getting coronavirus vaccination out of her turn a few days ago.
She tweeted, “I am sorry. I am ashamed. I apologise from the bottom of my heart. I will repent.”
In a video that is circulating on the social media in Pakistan, Iffat can be seen getting vaccinated at Federal Minister for Housing and Works Tariq Bashir Cheema’s residence along with some other people who appear to be Tariq Bashir Cheema’s relatives.
The Pakistani government has imported the coronavirus vaccine from China and Russia and the elderly and frontline health workers are being vaccinated against the coronavirus across the country in the first phase. However, some influential people are getting themselves vaccinated against the global coronavirus pandemic out of their turn using their social or political influence.
People above 50 are registering for the vaccination, but those getting vaccinated nowadays are above 60. For the people who are 80 or above, the Pakistani government has introduced the vaccination-at-home scheme to save them from the hassle in these times of pandemic.
