Punjab Assembly (PA) Spokesman Wednesday clarified that no provincial assembly session was officially called today (on Wednesday 06 April), 24News HD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

The PA spokesman said under Rule 25 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab powers of Deputy Speaker (DS) Dost Mazari have been returned after moving a no-confidence motion against him.

About calling the PA session from DS on April 06, the Spokesman said the order of Dost Mazari is against the provisions of Rule 28 of the 1997 Rules of Procedure of the Punjab Assembly.

The PA Spokesman said the Assembly Secretariat scrutinized the order of the meeting convened on April 6, 2022 at 7.30 pm with the signatures of Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari and found it fake as there is no Diary Number on it which is compulsory for the official document.

The PA Spokesman said this order was neither prepared nor issued by the Assembly Secretariat as well as the said order issued by the DS is also against the rules and regulations of the Assembly.

The PA Spokesman further stated that the said order under discussion was prepared outside the Assembly Secretariat.

The Spokesman said when a no-confidence motion has been filed against the DS, he cannot preside over any meeting because constitutionally he is not authorized to preside over any meeting and if they do so, they will be violating the constitution

Punjab Assembly spokesman also confirmed that the meeting of the Punjab Assembly will be held on April 16, 2022, at 11:30 AM.
