Robbers of Karachi ex-mayor’s house arrested

The Karachi police have arrested three suspects in a case of jewellery theft at the house of former Karachi Mayor and MQM leader Waseem Akhtar and have recovered up to 50 percent of the stolen items from them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to investigation officer, the case of theft at ex-mayor’s residence was registered on March 9 at Darakhshan police station on the complaint of servant Tufail.
According to the FIR of the case, the stolen items included ten bangles of two tolas of gold, eight bangles of 12 tolas, a diamond set, a set of diamond tops, three diamond rings, a ring with a large diamond, six tops of two tolas and Rs0.1 million.
The family suspected the servants.
Shortly after registering the complaint, the police started investigation and arrested Waseem Akhtar's house maid, her husband and father-in-law and recovered up to 50 percent of the jewellery from them.
During the investigation, it was learnt that the accused had sold some jewellery and gold in Interior Sindh and also bought a luxury car in Interior Sindh.
