Chandrashekhar Azad, President of the Azad Samaj Party and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), launched a fierce attack on the BJP-led central government during a public address in his home district on Saturday.

He accused the ruling party of imposing the Waqf Board Act on Muslims and fostering an environment of fear among Dalits and minorities across the country.

Azad expressed strong opposition to what he described as the "forceful imposition" of the Waqf Board Act, alleging that it was a targeted move against the Muslim community.

“This government is not only marginalizing Muslims but is also failing to ensure the safety and dignity of Dalit communities—not just in Uttar Pradesh, but across the entire nation,” he said.

Taking a broader aim at the central leadership, Azad stated that under BJP rule, both Dalits and minorities are subjected to systemic intimidation, and their constitutional rights are increasingly under threat.

Addressing the recent controversy surrounding historical figure Rana Sanga, Azad condemned those who, he claimed, were using the issue for political mileage.

He accused certain political forces of stoking communal tensions to distract the public from real and pressing issues.

“Instead of focusing on the urgent problems of unemployment and inflation, the government is wasting national discourse on communal narratives involving Hindus and Muslims,” Azad remarked.

Azad further warned that the constitutional framework of the country is being weakened, particularly in states governed by the BJP.

“There are direct assaults on the Constitution in these states, and the existence of the Bahujan community is in danger,” Azad cautioned.

Azad’s sharp critique adds to the growing chorus of voices raising concerns over rising communalism, social polarization, and the erosion of democratic norms under the current regime.
