In a major boost to women’s cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced free entry for all fans attending matches of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the official schedule, the tournament will kick off on April 9 and continue until April 19, with a total of eight matches being played at the historic stadium.
Pakistan’s women’s team will play its opening match against Ireland on April 9 at 9:30am, marking the beginning of the much-anticipated qualifiers.
Here is the full list of matches at Gaddafi Stadium:
April 9 (9:30am): Pakistan vs Ireland
April 11 (9:30am): Ireland vs West Indies
April 13 (2:00pm): Bangladesh vs Ireland
April 14 (2:00pm): Pakistan vs West Indies (Day-Night Match)
April 15 (2:00pm): Bangladesh vs Scotland
April 17 (2:00pm): Pakistan vs Thailand
April 18 (2:00pm): Ireland vs Scotland
April 19 (2:00pm): Thailand vs West Indies
The PCB said the initiative aims to promote women’s cricket and ensure greater public participation.
Cricket fans are encouraged to attend and support the players as top women’s teams battle for a spot in the ICC Women’s World Cup.
