Reacting to the conviction of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a graft case, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Interior and Legal Affairs Ataullah Tarar said on Saturday that it was clearly written in the court’s verdict that the PTI chairman was involved in corrupt practices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said today’s decision had proved that Imran was not ‘truthful and honest’ (Sadiq aur Ameen).
He further said that Imran subjected his political opponents to worse victimization when he was the country’s prime minister.
He accused PTI chairman of minting money from corrupt practices.
Tarar was of the view that there was none in the country’s history who had been exempted from court appearances the way Imran was exempted.
“Not only Imran committed corruption, but he had also turned out to be ‘obstinate’ and ‘corrupt’,” he said, adding, “There is no doubt that PTI chairman was now a ‘certified thief’.”
