Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, said on Tuesday that now when Imran was being provided relief by courts on merit, the question of striking a ‘deal’ with the establishment did not arise, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore, she said that the former prime minister was facing the cases filed against him, and was in no mood to strike a deal.

Aleema said that Imran had asked Army Chief General Asim Muneer to stop interfering in politics. “PTI has demanded the return of the mandate, which people had given to it in the February 8 general elections,” she said, adding, “This is a fair demand. However, if the government is not serious in returning to the party its mandate, then it is better that elections are held again.”

She said that she was demanding justice for herself as well as for her brother. “It is the duty of courts and the police to provide us justice,” Aleema asserted.

She said that she came to courts every 10 days to get extension in bails. “But it is unfortunate that judges are not tough on the investigation officers (IOs),” she said, adding, “Today I have said to the judge that if the IO is not interested in coming to the court, then she will withdraw her petition.”

How unfortunate, she lamented, that the law was applied only to the PTI and not to the IO. “There are penalties for an IO. He should also be sent to jail.”
