The minutes of the August 1 meeting of the Committee constituted under the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act 2023 Committee have been released.
The three-member committee meeting okayed the formation of a larger bench to take up the Arshad Sharif case. The moot also took up ad hoc judges working and okayed a revised duty roster.

According to the statement, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Muneeb Akhtar proposed to constitute a larger bench
In the past, a five-member larger bench heard this case, the two judges opined, adding that Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar have already heard this case.
The two judges insisted on constituting a five-member larger bench under Justice Jamal while the CJ opposed the constitution of a larger bench.
The three-member committee unanimously approved the constitution of the Shariat Appellate Bench.
In the meeting, it was decided to give additional cases to the bench consisting of ad hoc judges.
The duty roster from August 5 to September 6 was also approved in the meeting.
