PMC president Dr Naushad Ahmed tenders resignation

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) President Dr Naushad Ahmed Sheikh on Tuesday submitted a resignation from his position, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Speaking to the media, Prof Dr Naushad Ahmed said that he resigned from the post due to personal reasons and commitments. 

Dr Naushad Sheikh that he was not content during his tenure at PMC. He said that this was due to his other commitments and inability to take out the necessary time for the matters of PMC.  

Dr Naushad Ahmed said that he resigned recently on November 22 and has not gone to office since, he is unsure whether the health minister has accepted the resignation yet or not. 

Dr Naushad Ahmed Shaikh said, “I am always ready to serve any institution in the country for the improvement of medical education and health services where I have the support of higher authorities and political commitment.” 

He said the differences with the Federal Minister of Health are not valid. All these rumours about misunderstandings between the two are not true.

Dr Noshad Sheikh assumed the charge as President of PMC on Sept 7. 

 Prof. Dr Noshad A. Shaikh is a distinguished surgeon. He formerly served as Sindh's secretary of health and is currently the vice-chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences in Jamshoro.

Dr Noshad has been appointed as President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
