The Punjab government has announced a whopping increase in the fees for the learner driving licence for car and motorcycles, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the Lahore Traffic Police, the fee has been raised from Rs60 to 1,000 rupees from January 1, 2024.
In a social media post, Lahore Traffic Police said the caretaker Punjab government has decided to jack up the driving licence fee by over 1,600%

Further, the Lahore Traffic Police announced that people can still apply for old fees until December 31, 2023
The new rates will be in effect from January 1, 2024, and motorists have to pay Rs.1,000 as a licence fee.
Earlier, Lahore traffic police jacked up penalties for learner’s permit holders.
The police announced that it will not be registering cases against learner’s permit holders, however, they will be fined Rs.2,000.
