Former DG ISPR’s four-day old car accident pics go viral

Former director-general Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor apparently have met with a car accident on M2 motorway near Sargodha, and pictures of his smashed SUV went viral since a twitter user posted them on Wednesday night.
The news was picked up after a Twitter user uploaded a picture of the general's damaged car, assuring that the former spokesman of the Army and his family remained safe.
However, new DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar took to twitter to clarify that the incident was actually happened on February 2 and Maj Gen Ghafoor was safe in the incident.
“Ex DG ISPR Maj Gen. Asif Ghafoor is Alhamdulillah safe and right now he is in Saudi Arabia to perform UMRAH. Pictures circulating on social media are off 2nd February 2020. His vehicle met an accident but Alhamdulillah he didn't got hurt,” tweeted Maj Gen Babar.

Earlier, Major General Babar Iftikhar had also conveyed his felicitations to Major General Asif Ghafoor on Twitter, for performing Umrah.

In January, Maj Gen Ghafoor was replaced by Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar as the spokesperson of the Army. Maj Gen Ghafoor’s services have been transferred to the 40th Infantry Division (Okara), where he will be serving as the general officer commanding.
