A number of flights were cancelled and several others were rescheduled after thick fog swallowed Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Sunday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The flight operation at the Lahore Airport was suspended late last night after the fog started to engulf the city and it has now been over 19 hours since the runway has been shut down.
The situation was no different on Sunday morning also as dense clouds of fog reduced the visibility to just 50 metres making it non-operational.
Two flights were cancelled whereas the schedule of 17 flights was changed, literally meaning that the night-time flights will now be operated in the daytime after Sunday noon.
Serene Air flight ER-522 coming from Karachi to Lahore has been cancelled while another flight going to Karachi from Lahore was also cancelled.
Flight WS-1195 coming from Tehran to Lahore has been facing a delay of 19 hours.
Emirates flight coming from Dubai to Lahore has been facing a delay of 13 hours.
PIA flight coming from Riyadh to Lahore has also been facing a delay of seven and half hours.
An Airblue flight coming from Abu Dhabi to Lahore has also been facing a delay of 11 hours.
Flight TK-715 going to Istanbul from Lahore is also facing a delay of nearly six hours.
Flight PK-229 going to Muscat from Lahore is facing a delay of seven hours.
