Security forces gun down TTP would-be bomber in Tank

In an intelligence-based operation, the security forces have gunned down a suicide bomber during an exchange of fire near Dial Road, Tank, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a press release issued by Army’s media wing, ISPR on Sunday, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation near Dial road, Tank on confirmed intelligence reports of the presence of TTP terrorists. During the operation, a suicide bomber has been killed. The operation is continuing to eliminate terrorist abettors and accomplices. 

According to police, the security forces after receiving information about the presence of a suicide bomber in Dial Canal laid a siege of the area. The bomber and forces indulged in a trade of fire. In the gun battle, the bomber was hit by bullets and died.

SHO Noor Aslam Khan said that the slain terrorist was wearing suicide jacket and police also recovered a hand grenade from his possession. 

The body of the terrorist was shifted to DHQ Hospital, Tank.

According to police, the encounter between forces and the terrorist was held last night. The slain terrorist was walking on a deserted road near By-pass road, police said adding that they still were unable to ascertain the identity of the terrorist.
