The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday barred the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from taking any further action against Aleema Khan, the sister of former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of petitions filed by Aleema against the notices issued to her by the FIA, Chief Justice (CJ) of the IHC Justice Aamer Farooq ordered the Agency not to take any action against the petitioner.
The CJ also issued a notice to the FIA and sought its reply in the case.
Sheeraz Ranjha Advocate who is representing Aleema in the court, said that two wings of the FIA namely the cybercrime wing and the anti-terrorism wing issued separate notices to his client.
The court then adjourned the case’s hearing until the next hearing.
Imran Khan’s bails in seven cases extended until Feb 9
Also on Tuesday, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore extended the interim bails granted to former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan in seven cases until February 9.
However, Imran could not attend the case’s hearing from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail via a video link.
Barrister Salman Safdar, counsel for the former prime minister, who appeared in the court, said he would only give arguments once his client attended the hearing.
The hearing of three cases was held in court number 1 while the hearing of four others was held in court number 3.
The judge directed the barrister to give his arguments on the next date of hearing.
The court also sought a reply on the petition filed by Imran’s lawyer, seeking the production of his client in the court.
In his petition, Barrister Safdar said that before his arrest ex-PTI chairman would appear in the court regularly; therefore, it was prayed to the court to order his production.
