Kashmir Solidarity Day celebrated at Fatima Jinnah Medical University

On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, a seminar and awareness walk was organized at Fatima Jinnah Medical University.


The Vice-Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, graced the occasion as the chief guest.


Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Principal Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal, Registrar Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nadeem, Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Director, Quality Enhancement Cell Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Deans Prof. Ayesha Malik, Prof. Alia Zahid, Medical Superintendent Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. Sohail Arshad, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and a large number of students participated.


The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.


In the welcome address, Principal Prof. Noreen Akmal welcomed the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, and all the faculty members. She gave a brief overview on the history of Kashmir. She said that Kashmir is a paradise, and the people of Kashmir have been oppressed for the last 70 years. The Indian Army is committing atrocities against Kashmiri Muslims. We pray that Almighty Allah blesses the Muslims of Kashmir with freedom and that a day will come when Kashmiri Muslims will be free from the oppression and brutality of India.


Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal said that today every Pakistani has a voice, that Kashmiris should be given their rights, and that the Resolution of the United Nations about Kashmir should be followed. He also condemned the ongoing violence in Kashmir. The hearts of the people of Pakistan beat with Kashmiris. He said that it is the law of nature that when cruelty increases, it ends. We will always raise the issue of occupied Kashmir. He added that freedom is a great blessing, and we value freedom and thank Almighty Allah. We should all remember the oppressed Muslims of Kashmir in our special prayers and try to play our positive role in the freedom of Kashmir. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal offered special prayers for the oppressed Muslims of Kashmir. In the end, he said that today, Fatima Jinnah Medical University is celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day in befitting manners.


Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja said that raising a voice against the oppression in occupied Kashmir is a painful example of the double standards of the Western world. We call upon the international community to take notice of the brutalities in occupied Kashmir and appeal that the people of occupied Kashmir be given their right to self-determination.


Prof. Nadeem Kasuri said that our prayers are always with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters. We must raise our voice at every forum for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people as a nation.


Prof. Ayesha Malik said that we strongly condemn the ongoing oppression and brutality in Kashmir and express full solidarity with the Kashmiris. It is our prayer that Almighty Allah gives us the courage to help our Kashmiri brothers and sisters.


The Medical Superintendent of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Dr. Sohail Arshad, said that freedom is a great blessing. We will spread the message of solidarity with the people of Kashmir everywhere.


Prof. Aliya Zahid said that we are saddened by the news coming from Kashmir. We pray to Almighty Allah to give us the courage and strength to fight against human rights violations all over the world.


On this occasion, an awareness walk was also organized to express solidarity with the oppressed Muslims of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and against the brutal violence and lockdown.
