The Bannu District Administration on Wednesday suspended 10 staff members of a basic health unit (BHU) for converting the basic health facility into a kitchen for people participating in an anti-government rally led by Fazlur Rehman, chairman of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
According to a notification issued on Wednesday evening, woman medical officer at Khalifa Gulnawaz BHU Dr Shama Naheed is among the 10 staff members who have been suspended for converting the health facility into a kitchen for the PDM rally. The other staff members were identified as Iftikhar, Ali, Naila Noor and Dil Rojana.
The local police also seized cooking pots and pans from the BHU, which is located near the house of JUI-F leader Akram Khan Durrani.
