Former skipper and legendary batsman Inzamamul Haq has been appointed as honorary president of Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the seventh season of Pakistan Super League (PSL), reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday.
Peshawar Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi welcomed Inzamamul Haq to be a part of the Zalmi family saying Inzamam is a legend and cricketers will benefit from his association with the PZ franchise as a president.
Javed was of the view that particularly Zalmi's young cricketers would get a chance to learn a lot from Inzamam.
It is pertinent to mention that the former skipper and chief selector Inzamamul Haq joined the Peshawar Zalmi franchise during last season of the PSL as a mentor.
Inzamam scored 11,739 runs in ODI cricket and 8,830 runs in the Test cricket for Pakistan. He was also influential to shape up the Afghanistan cricket team that is currently making waves on the international cricket circles as its head coach before joining the Pakistan Cricket Board as a chief selector.
