Claiming that the report of Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) scrutiny committee in foreign funding case had proven the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) guilty, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday demanded the Supreme Court (SC) to dismiss Prime Minister Imran Khan from the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media, he stressed the need for getting rid of the politics of ‘deal’. “We all have to abide by the constitution. It will be better if all the state institutions work within the ambits of the constitution,” he said, adding this was because of political parties striking ‘deals’ with the establishment that the country had reached such a dismal state.
Accusing the government of subordinating the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the PML-N leader vowed not to let what he called PM Imran from selling out the country.
Again calling Imran Khan the ‘selected’ prime minister, Ahsan said a country’s chief executive who was voted by the masses was answerable to them while the one who was imposed on them had no fear of accountability.
He said that the foreign funding report had exposed the ugly face of Imran Khan who would lecture on corruption and stress transparency. “The agenda of snatching autonomy from the SBP is of those people who funded the PTI so that it could serve its interests after coming to power,” he alleged.
