The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is yet to receive the full record from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to investigate the alleged foreign funding into the accounts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It is learnt that due to the unavailability of the full record, no progress could be made by the FIA in investigation into the alleged foreign funding to the PTI.

The ECP had provided preliminary record to the FIA in October 2022 in which the election commission’s Foreign Funding Fact Finding Report for PTI was also included.

Investigations are also underway into the PTI’s accounts in PS-113 constituency, Karachi.

Other accounts that are being investigated include the account of PTI’s general secretariat and that of the party’s media centre.

Investigations are also going on regarding the bank account of the PTI’s women wing.

Former Sindh governor Imran Ismail is also part of the FIA’s investigation.
