The Supreme Court on Friday returned an application seeking drastic cut in perks and allowances enjoyed by senior government officers and judges after raising a number of objections over its contents which it described as ambiguous and misleading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The apex court’s Registrar Office ruled that under Article 248 president of the state cannot be made a respondent in the application.

It further implied that Article184-3 of the Constitution cannot be invoked on individual complaint. Application’s paragraph one is irrelevant, objected the Registrar’s Office.

It also stated that the point of public interest was not identified in the application.

The Office also said that the applicant approached the Supreme Court straight away instead of moving to the relevant forum.
