The chair and members of the executive committee of World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) congratulated the Vice Chancellor of FJMU Prof Khalid Masud Gondal on the varsity’s remarkable accomplishment in the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
According to a press release, they ranked FJMU the 253rd position in Overall ranking, the 73rd position in Student Support and Engagement, the 46th position in Student Mobility and Openness and the 30th position in Social Responsibility.
They highly commended Fatima Jinnah Medical University and the vibrant leadership of FJMU for their remarkable performances, especially considering the intense competition FJMU faced this year. The WURI office collected 2,916 cases of innovation from 1,072 global universities. They invited 156 university presidents worldwide to evaluate them based on three criteria (Innovativeness, Implementability, and Impact).
They further commended FJMU’s rankings as a testament to the tireless efforts of FJMU over the past years and its vision for the future. This year’s competition was particularly intense, with the number of innovative cases in 2024 more than almost tripling from last year’s submissions from 423 universities.
Secondly, they further asked to nominate two representatives from FJMU, one faculty member and one administrative staff member, to be considered for the prestigious WURI Prize for Excellence in Innovation.
The WURI Foundation will assess their contributions and present the Prize to the selected individuals in acknowledgement of their exceptional dedication and service. Lastly, they also invited to participate and present successful cases of innovation from FJMU during the 2024 WURI Global Conference (WGC24).
