Rawalpindi Additional Session Court has awarded a death sentence and a fine of Rs500,000 to a blasphemy convict on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
FIA Cyber Crime Circle registered a blasphemy case against accused Wazid Zarin Abbasi on November 16, 2022.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Khalid Mahmood Cheema pronounced the verdict.
The court remarked that this was the most heinous crime and there was no room for concession to the convict.
The court also announced life imprisonment and a fine of Rs5 lakh to the convict under section 295b. While in an offence of insulting remarks, 10-year imprisonment and Rs5 lakh fine were also imposed on Wazid Zarin Abbasi.
Moreover, for insulting scared personalities 3 years imprisonment and 50,000 rupees fine was handed over to the convict under section 298a.
Likewise, for uttering insulting remarks against sacred personalities, the court handed over a sentence of 7 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 to the accused.
