Pakistan International Airline’s (PIA) ATR plane carrying 60 passengers and crew survived a crash and safely landed at Karachi airport on Monday night.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PIA flight PK504 flew from Gwadar to Karachi.
The sources said that some fragments of rubber have been seen falling on the runway soon after taking off the ATR plane from the Gwadar airport.
Observing the rubber pieces on the runway, Gwadar's air traffic controller immediately made a contact with the captain of flight POK504 and instructed him to check the plane’s tires.
Following the instructions, the ATR captain contacted the Air Traffic Controller at Karachi Airport before landing with a request for advance arrangements for (crash) landing.
The plane was safely landed under the guidance of the Air Traffic Controller. An inspection after landing revealed that one of the plane's right tires had exploded.
The PIA spokesman has said that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
