Former speaker National Assembly and PTI leader Asad Qaiser has said that he is in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the party is ready to hold serious dialogue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was talking to the media outside the District Courts in Islamabad on Monday where he came in connection with a case concerning violence at the Federal Judicial Complex.
Replying to a question regarding serious negotiations, the former NA speaker said they vouched for it. “We are ready for serious negotiations,” he added.
When a journalist asked him, if it was possible to talk with Prime Minster Shehbaz Sharif as was suggested by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Qaiser replied “What negotiations can be held in the current situation in the country? Fix the situation first, then negotiations can take place.”
While replying to a question regarding contact with PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he said, “I am in PTI. I am in touch with the PTI chief.”
Answering another question regarding contact with the defected leader of the party, Jahangir Tareen, Qaiser said that he was not in contact with Tareen.
When asked by a journalist whether he was in contact with Fawad Chaudhry who is raking leaders from the PTI, he simply answered ‘I am in PTI”.
There were speculations about Qaiser and the party’s KP president Pervez Khattak who went ‘missing’ as claimed by the PTI a few days ago when they went to meet ‘someone in the establishment’ for holding talks. But later, the duo emerged and Khattak held a presser on Thursday night and announced parting ways with the PTI.
Qaiser, however, did not announce his decision.
Meanwhile, earlier today, Asad Umar, who had quit the PTI, told the media persons outside the ECP building that he was not in contact with Jahangir Khan Tareen.
He said there was no improvement in the political upheaval, the PTI was facing nowadays.
