PM Shehbaz visits Huawei HQs in Shenzhen, lauds innovation of Chinese tech giant

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen, China. Chairman of Huawei Mr Liang Hua welcomed the Prime Minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit, Pakistani national songs were played at Huawei headquarters. The Prime Minister visited the exhibition centre at Huawei headquarters. At the exhibition centre, the Prime Minister was briefed on various sectors, especially e-governance, digital banking, telecommunication, and artificial intelligence.
Huawei chief briefed the Prime Minister about the global operations of Huawei, especially in Pakistan, and expressed deep interest in investing in various sectors of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister appreciated the innovation of Huawei's operations and encouraged Huawei to expand its investment in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the Safe City projects being built in Pakistan with the cooperation of Huawei. Later, the Prime Minister and Pakistani delegation had a bilateral meeting with Chairman Huawei.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister informed Chairman Huawei about the steps taken by the government to promote investment and facilitate business in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister invited Huawei to establish Safe City projects in various cities of Pakistan, especially those cities where CPEC projects were in progress.
PM Shehbaz said the government was taking steps to digitize government offices on a priority basis.
Prime Minister told the tech giant that there were vast investment opportunities in Pakistan for a big company like Huawei in the fields of tax system, e-governance and artificial intelligence.
The Prime Minister also invited the chairman of Huawei to invest in modern technology in the agricultural sector in Pakistan. The Prime Minister also invited Chairman Huawei to visit Pakistan soon.
Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz also attended the signing ceremony of the framework agreement between Huawei and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Under the framework agreement, Huawei will provide free training to 2 lakh youth of Pakistan in the field of information technology including artificial intelligence. Apart from this, Huawei will also provide full support in the establishment of safe cities, e-governance and digitization of the economy in Pakistan.
The Chairman of Huawei also hosted a luncheon in honour of the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation.
Federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal Khan, Attaullah Tarar and Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaja attended the meeting.
