Film actor Ahmed Ali Butt claims that the slogan Mera Jism Meri Marzi is a local-exploited Western campaign.

In a post on Instagram, the actor said that how the slogan that otherwise goes against the country’s cultural values is being promoted in Pakistan ahead of the Aurat March on Sunday.

“I have even less sympathy for people who exploit the so-called Mera J Merey XYZ”. It’s a Western campaign which supports, make abortion legal, abolish ban on organ sale and make prostitution legal,” the Jawani Phir Nahin Aani actor said in the post.

He added: “When it comes to women rights, Islam has the most rights and respect for women. It’s sad to see how we forget that and follow a trend and funded movements.”

Earlier, Ahmed Ali Butt went on to criticize both Khalilur Rehman Qamar and Marvi Sermid saying, “Khalilur Rehman hurled abuses on TV while Marvi does that on Twitter, both are wrong and disrespectful, I have no sympathy for anyone.”

Expressing his wholehearted support for women march to mark the International Women’s Day on March 8 (Sunday), Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said none could be allowed to dictate women how to do politics and lodge protest.

“These days [some] people say that women cannot march. I tell them that their thinking is outdated. The woman of Pakistan will march and will become prime minister if she desires so,” he said.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman talking to the media about Aurat March said: “Mera jism meri marzi” is a sheer obscenity. He said that constitution, law and civilization don’t allow such obscenity.

He further adds, “This slogan is only being chanted by one percent people. Islam has given share to the women in inheritance, property and livelihood. However certain people are all set to drag the country to era of ignorance.”
