Pop singer Taylor Swift made a donation of $1 million to help victims of the destructive tornadoes that killed 24 people in parts of Nashville and central Tennessee.
Swift, 30, revealed on her Instagram page her philanthropic donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund and urged fans to do the same.
"Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me," Swift said on Instagram.
She included a link to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. The statewide death toll was at least 24.
Swift has made charitable efforts in Music City since she first rose to country stardom. In response to the 2010 Nashville flood, she donated $500,000 to relief efforts and created the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund.
