Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday condemned hooliganism by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers at D-Chowk, Islamabad, and said PTI goons attacked Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) gentlemen, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media personnel at Sukkur, he said, “We know how to reply in the same coin. And when we will respond, you will run for the cover.”
Fazl said it was clearly stated in the constitution that if the president thought the prime minister had lost the trust of the legislators, he would convene the NA session himself, and not on the prime minister’s summary. “But this time around the session was convened when the prime minister moved the summary for that,” the JUI-F chief said, and added, “It was all pre-planned. We don’t accept this drama.”
He alleged that agencies’ personnel went door to door at Parliament Lodges on Friday night to tell members of the National Assembly to ensure their presence at today’s NA session.
He hit out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying he had a “dirty” past. “Sometimes, he says the state of Medinah is his role model, and then says the Chinese model is the best,” he said, and added, “The nation will not be befooled by your false promises. All your talk of jobs and other issues are a pack of lies.”
Fazl said only fresh elections were the solution to the crisis the country was facing these days.
