Passport fees increased

The Federal Government has announced a significant increase in passport fees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to details, the new fees will be effective from March 7.

The normal passport fee has been raised from Rs3000 to Rs4500, while the urgent passport fee has jumped from Rs5000 to Rs7500.

Moreover, the 10-year normal passport, which previously cost Rs4500, has increased by Rs6700.

Similarly, the 10-year urgent passport fee has skyrocketed from Rs7500 to a staggering Rs11200.

The government of Pakistan issues passports to its citizens through the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports to facilitate their journey and provide them protection while traveling abroad.

A passport is the only document that confirms the identity of a citizen of Pakistan in foreign countries.
