Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Gwadar on Tuesday to meet the victims of rain-related incidents in the province, reported 24News HD TV channel.
On the occasion, after handing over cheques and other essential items among the victims, Shehbaz Sharif assured all rain victims that each and every affected family will be given financial assistance after due assessment of their losses.
Shehbaz further said that relatives of deceased who lost their lives in rain related incidents will be given 2 million rupees each as an aid while the houses which were destroyed completely will be paid 7 lakh rupees each while partial damaged houses owners will get 3 lakh rupees each.
Later talking to media, PM Shehbaz said that after taking charge of PM office, he made maiden visit of Gwadar to help the rain victims.
He said when their houses were hit with rains how their PM can sit in PM House without showing any concern for them. He said provision of essential items and cash to the victims was his top priority as he remembered during his last tenure he had distributed over 100 billion rupees among the flood victims.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti for provision of relief to the rain victims in the province.
During his visit, CM Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan Chief Secretary, Commissioner Makran district and DC Gwadar were also present on the occasion.
Earlier Shehbaz was told that 3100 houses were damaged partially in Gwadar, 2500 in Jiwani while overall 95 houses were damaged completely. The civil administration told PM that about 355 victims were settled in government buildings, while 800 people were rescued and shifted to safer places. Army relief camps were still active in the province.
