Asad Qasim Ronjho has been elected unopposed as a Senator from Balochistan on a general seat, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Asad Qasim Ronjho secured the seat that was fell vacant following the resignation of his father, Qasim Ronjho.
Qasim Ronjho was previously affiliated with the Balochistan National Party (BNP). However, he voted against the party’s stance on the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which led to internal pressure and his eventual resignation from the Senate.
Following his resignation, the BNP expelled Qasim Ronjho from the party. Since no other candidate submitted nomination papers for the vacant seat, the Election Commission declared Asad Qasim Ronjho elected unopposed.
