The State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday ordered to keep open the banks for the importers and exporters on May 10 and 11, reported 24News HD TV channel.
As per details, the banks will keep 50 percent of their special branches open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The usual operation will continue at Port Qasim, Karachi, and Gawader ports on Monday and Tuesday.
The government had decided closure of banks for 10 days in connection with Eid. After reports aired on 24 News HD regarding the difficulties of importers and exporters, the State Bank of Pakistan changed its decision and ordered all the banks to keep their 50 percent special branches open in order to facilitate the business community.
The special branches of banks will carry on with usual banking and foreign exchange. On the other hand, Port Qasim, Karachi, and Gawadar ports will continue their usual operation on May 10 and 11.
