No Maal in Punjab Baitul Maal

Punjab Baitul Maal has started complaining about the unavailability of funds from the government as the organization ran out of money, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The Baitul Maal has now decided to seek donations from non-governmental organizations and donor agencies.

NGOs and donor agencies could give funds to Baitul Mal after amendments in the Punjab Treasury Act.

Punjab Baitul Maal provides financial assistance to the poor, widows, orphans, invalids, infirm and other needy persons with emphasis on rehabilitation, educational assistance to needy or orphans and stipends for the outstanding, non-affording students for higher professional education, residential accommodation and necessary facilities for the deserving.
