Turkish actors from the blockbuster historical series Dirilis: Ertugrul, Cengiz Coskun aka Turgut Alp and Nurettin Sonmez aka Bamsi Bay on Saturday visited Lake City Society in Lahore and met with Lake City Chief Executive Gohar Ijaz and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Business personalities of the corporate companies and their families also had a chit-chat with the Turkish actors who also visited the City Golf and Country Club and played golf.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar while addressing the participants welcomed the Turkish guests, telling them that Pakistanis are really mad about the Dirilis: Ertugrul drama series.
“If we look at, there are 60 Muslim countries in the world but we have zero influence in the world. This is very painful. When Allah has given us so many resources and there was no shortage of intellectual community then the only reason we are failing is because of disunity.”
“You are being commended for bringing closer the Muslim Ummah all over the world. You have become popular as you had achieved much through your hard work,” he added.
The Punjab governor told Turkish TV actors,” If you want to join politics in the future then Pakistan is a better option than Turkey because you are very popular in Lahore.”
“We love Turkey and its people. We remember the time when there was a difficult time in Turkey and our people supported Turkey. That bond will flourish,” Punjab Governor further said.
Punjab Governor also appreciated Lake City and told Turkish guests that he enjoyed walking in Lake City than in Governor House Lahore.
He also appreciated Gohar Ejaz and all people associated with Lake City and termed them as true friends of ‘people in need’.
Earlier both characters of Erturgul visited Karachi where they received an immense fan following.
Both the actors also thanked their hosts and the people of Pakistan for the warm welcome they are being accorded.
