Rana Sana warns Sh Rashid against any utterance about Maryam

October 6, 2020 12:31 PM

Rana Sanaullah, the senior PML-N leader who is the president of the party’s Punjab chapter, on Tuesday warned Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid that any statements against Maryam Nawaz would prove costly to him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The government has nothing to do except registering terrorism cases and issuing fatwas of treason, Rana Sana told journalists outside an anti-terrorism court in Lahore.

Referring to the sedition case registered against the PML-N leaders at Lahore’s Shahdara Police Station yesterday, he said even Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider had been declared a traitor. It was because of the panic that gripped the ruling party, he added.

If this case is registered without the government’s approval then what action has been taken [against those filing the FIR], Rana Sana questioned.

He was talking about the statements of various ruling party members who criticised the move and said the government had nothing to do with the case.

One of them, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry, even claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan didn’t know about the case and unhappy over the move.

The PML-N Punjab president said, “The government’s lies won’t work now”. Why the government wasn’t watching what India had been saying since the registration of case, he remarked.

Besides warning Sheikh Rashid against using any foul language or issuing statements, Rana Sana recalled that the railways minister was begging Nawaz Sharif to allow him back in the party after the party supremo returned to Pakistan in 2007. Majid Nizami used to plead the case on behalf of Sheikh Rashid, he revealed.
