The dead body of a nine-year-old girl with a slit throat was Thursday recovered from the Chenab Nagar police precincts in Lalian area of District Chiniot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, the information about nine-year-old Munazza Bibi going missing reached them at 11pm last night.

“On being informed of the incident, senior police officers of Chenab Nagar police station reached the spot,” a police spokesperson said.

“The girl’s body was found from near her house. Her throat had been slit to kill her. The forensic teams have cordoned off the crime scene, and they are collecting evidence,” he added.

Chiniot District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Ahmed Malik also reached the spot as soon as he got information about the incident. He inspected the crime scene and gave instructions to the officers concerned.

The DPO also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of all possible support. “Evidence is being collected by cordoning off the area. A search operation is also underway,” he added.

“The incident will be investigated from every angle with the help of modern technology. The case will be sorted out soon,” he pledged.
