All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Patron-in-Chief Dr Gohar Ejaz stressed the need for helping flood-hit people, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Gohar Ejaz said that a donation of Rs one billion has been collected by the Lahore Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS). “We are delivering 150,000 ration packs to the flood victims across the country. We have collected quality ghee, flour, tea, mineral water, and other edibles for flood survivors,” he said, adding the LIHS was formed 4-year ago by six top entrepreneurs who are also its trustees and are trying to serve people.
Gohar Ejaz said that LIAH with a donation of Rs18 billion is establishing a free 600-bed hospital, Indus Hospital, in Jubli Town, which is a gift for the citizens. This hospital will provide free-of-cost outdoor and indoor health facilities.
Gohar Ejaz recalled that the public sector hospitals of the city did not have food arrangements for the patients.
Now, the LIHS is providing food to 30,000 patients and their attendants in Mayo Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Children Hospital, and Services Hospital in a dignified manner. LIHS also established Musafar Khanas for the stay of the attendants.
He elaborated that LIHS started providing food to the patients and their attendants from Mayo Hospital some 3-year ago. Later, it took responsibility for Jinnah Hospital, Children Hospital, and Services Hospital.
The Aptma patron-in-chief said during COVID-19, LISH also provided rations to the one lac needy through 1122.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman said that Gohar Ejaz is working passionately for Pakistan. He stressed the need for joint efforts to cope with the challenge that emerged after devastating floods across the country.
