Following Pakistan's glorious win against India in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf interacted virtually with Shaheen—who is presently in London for rehab.
Star left arm pacer Afridi is undergoing rehabilitation in London in a dedication to be available for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in October and November of this year.
Haris and Naseem can be seen consolidating with Shaheen in the video posted by the PCB's official Twitter account, where the left-arm seamer states the following: "The weight training for rehabilitation is going nicely. Six pack (abs) aaya hai little bit, I'll be bowling in two weeks."
Haris responded with a great reaction to this, “yes, you have future intentions to become an actor, right?"
Afridi also expressed in the video his desire to witness Haris and Naseem bowl yorkers towards the end of the match. Additionally, Afridi mentioned to Rauf that he watched the match against India and found Rauf's bowling to be "really excellent."
Afridi was also heard saying, "Asia cup nahi jaani chahiye," which means, "Asia cup should not leave our hands."
"Aap ki bathaye hue... aap guru ho!" Rauf responded. (Just taking the route you have determined; you are the guru)
Shaheen will continue to be under the care of the PCB Medical Advisory Panel in London, which also includes Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed and Dr. Zafar Iqbal who are there for rehab process.
Shaheen sustained a PCL injury in July while fielding in the opening Test game with Sri Lanka. His comeback to international cricket will be agreed upon by the PCB Medical Advisory Panel, although he is hopeful to be fully fit before the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022.
