The police digging into the Karachi school sex scandal have not so far recovered the DVR of CCTV cameras installed at the school, sources said.

The prime suspect, Irfan Ghafoor, hid the DVR at an unknown place, they said, adding that the footage saved in the DVR could lead to some startling revelation but the investigators are ignoring the aspect.

A couple of days ago, the sex scandal made headlines and the police high-ups made promises to bring to justice the culprits.

For two days, the police remained busy with pointing-scoring through media statements. Now, the personnel probing the scandal could not be reached despite repeated attempts.

Their phone numbers are either switched off or not responding at the moment.

AC Nazir Abro with a police team yesterday sealed the school  and the court of judicial magistrate in Malir granted police a seven-day physical remand of Irfan Memon.

The state prosecutor made a revelation in the court that Irfan was not alone; instead, he was a member of a gang.

The court ordered the police to submit a progress report at the next hearing.
