Bin Qasim police arrested a 10-member gang involved in stealing the pipelines at K-4 water project in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to the police, the gang was led by a former policeman identified as Habibullah. The accused used to cut the pipelines at K-4 project and then sold them in other provinces.
“The accused had been involved in cutting and stealing the pipelines at K-4 project for the last two-and-a-half months. The stolen items were worth millions of rupees,” police said.
The authorities concerned had got no case registered against the theft incident. The police, however, registered a case themselves and launched investigation.
