Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting to review the performance of the Health Department and special measures, and ordered to complete construction, renovation and expansion projects of hospitals on priority basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CM also expressed his satisfaction with drop-and-shift treatment of cardiac patients.
He said that CCTV cameras will be used to monitor the emergency room, and a monitoring room will be set up for video and audio recording.
He also reviewed the proposal to provide financial assistance to the families of doctors who died during employment and another proposal to increase the Health Professional Allowance was taken into consideration in the meeting.
The CM was briefed by the Secretary of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education on the current screening procedures at various hospitals.
Punjab jails have completed the health screening process of 52700 prisoners and the process treating sick inmates has begun.
Additionally, health screening of 30,000 special children of special education also completed.
CM Naqvi directed to conduct screening every three months.
He also informed Naqvi that 200 more ambulances will be provided to transfer the pregnant mothers to hospitals.
Furthermore, the construction, repair and rehabilitation project of Children's Hospital Emergency Ward will be completed shortly.
The "Safe Blood for Punjab" project aims to give patients in Punjab access to safe blood.
Angiography will be started in Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital with private participation.
Ultrasound and staff evening shift have been started in Mian Munshi Hospital.
Secretary Primary Secondary Health also gave a detailed briefing to the meeting.
