Punjab Police on Friday told Lahore High Court (LHC) that the rights of the plaintiff and the victims would be protected till the conclusion of the case under the new SOPs, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court was hearing a case in which a petitioner pleaded that the police did not have a proper system to inform the plaintiffs about the progress of the cases registered in the police stations and order it to make a fresh policy on it.
The petition was taken by Justice Amjad Rafiq and filed by a citizen Muhammad Younas.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kamran Adil submitted a copy of the new SOPs to the court.
He contended that a new policy has been prepared by the department to keep the plaintiff informed about the proceeding from case registration to disposal.
The court praised Punjab IG Usman Anwar and DIG Kamran Adil for making the policy.
According to the new policy, the rights of the plaintiff and the victims will be protected till the conclusion of the case.
DIG IT will monitor the process, even after the bail application of the accused is filed.
After every fortnight the concerned SP or DSP will inform the petitioner about the progress of the case in the presence of the investigating offi
