After Orange Line Metro Train, the Punjab Government was planning to launch Blue and Purple Line Metro Trains services in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Blue and Purple Line Train Projects were estimated to cost Rs14.5 trillion, which is almost half of the total budget of the province.
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sought approval from Punjab government on both the mega projects. PC-1 of both the projects will be prepared after the approval of the Punjab government.
According to the documents, a detailed briefing was arranged for CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz and her Cabinet about the cost and planning of Blue and Purple Line projects.
Around 577 billion rupees has been estimated for the completion of the Purple Line Metro Train project, says the documents. The Purple Line Train will run between airport to Bhati Chowk. The Purple Line train will be 16km long and have 16 stations. 250,000 citizens will travel on the train every day.
While 872 billion rupees has been estimated for the completion of the Blue Line Train Project which will start from Valencia Town and end at Babu Sabu Interchange. Blue Line track will be 27 km long and will have 28 stations. Around 400,000 citizens will travel daily on the Blue Line train project.
