Pakistan meets West Indies in its second warm-up match today

As Pakistan takes on West Indies in its second warm-up match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (WC) Qualifier today, the Punjab home department on Monday wrote a letter to the Interior Ministry, requesting for the deployment of contingents of the Pakistan Army and Rangers until April 20 so that foolproof security could be provided to the teams participating in the event, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The department requested for the deployment of one wing of Rangers and two companies of the army for the purpose. 

All matches are scheduled to be played at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

A total of six teams are participating in the tournament namely Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and Thailand.

Pakistan play its second warm-up match against West Indies in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifier at Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore, today.  

Fatima Sana is leading Pakistan’s side. 

The qualifier will get underway on April 9. In all, eight matches will be played at the Qaddafi Stadium.

The first match will be played between Pakistan and Ireland on April 9. The match will commence at 9:30 AM.

The second match will be played between Ireland and West Indies on April 11; the third match between Bangladesh and Ireland on April 13.

Similarly, Pakistan will face West Indies on April 14, while Bangladesh and Scotland will clash with each other on April 15. 

On the other hand, what could be described as a big decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), there will be a free entry for the spectators coming to watch the qualifier matches.
