A drug-addicted man brutally beheaded his wife with a sharp-edged weapon in the suburban village 230/9-R near Fort Abbas, police confirmed.
According to police, the accused, Murataba, was a habitual drug addict and often quarrelled with his wife at home. He was the father of five children.
After committing the heinous act, the accused tried to hide in nearby fields but was tracked down and arrested by Khichi Wala Police, who reached the scene and began an investigation.
The incident has shocked the local community, and police say further legal action is underway.
