In two separate police encounters, one notorious dacoit was killed and another was arrested during separate police encounters in the Chaklala area of Rawalpindi and Malakwal, reported 24HD News Channel on Monday.
In the first incident, which took place in the Chaklala area of Rawalpindi, a police party signalled a suspicious vehicle to stop, but the driver of the car ignored their signal and tried to escape from the scene.
A woman who was also on board the car came out and started firing on the police party.
In retaliation, police teams also opened fire in self-defence. During a heavy exchange of firing, notorious dacoit Asif was killed on the spot while his other colleagues fled away from the crime scene.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the site and shifted the dead bodies to a local hospital for autopsy.
Police, after registering a case, started a search operation to apprehend the remaining culprits.
Dacoit Mohsin Chura gunned down in Malakwal
In another incident, a notorious proclaimed offender, Mohsin alias Chura, was gunned down during a police encounter that took place in the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station.
The accused was wanted by police as 25 cases were registered against him.
Sources said that after receiving credible information about the presence of wanted persons, a police team cordoned off the area and started the checking process.
During checking, the armed dacoit opened fire on the police party; in retaliation, the police opened fire on the dacoit, who received serious bullet wounds and died on the spot.
