The Pakistan Women’s continued their strong form ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers with a convincing five-wicket win over the West Indies in their second warm-up match.
Chasing a target of 189, Pakistan reached the finish line in 46.1 overs, scoring 192 for 5. The run-chase was anchored by a composed 87-run knock from opener Muneeba Ali, who faced 113 balls, while Natalia Pervaiz added crucial support with a brisk 53 off 60 deliveries. Gul Feroza chipped in with a steady 28 off 55 balls.
Earlier, the West Indies Women posted 188 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Shabika Gajnabi remained unbeaten with a gritty 68, while Gina Glasgow added 41 runs to the total.
Pakistan's bowlers kept things tight throughout the innings. Sadia Iqbal was the standout, grabbing 3 wickets for just 21 runs. Nashra Sandhu bagged 2 for 47, while Fatima Sana, Diana Baig, and Rameen Shamim picked up one wicket apiece.
With two warm-up victories under their belt, Pakistan now shift focus to their opening qualifier clash against Ireland on April 9 at the LCCA Ground. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.
Meanwhile, in another warm-up encounter, Ireland Women outclassed Thailand Women by five wickets.
Chasing 228, Ireland reached 231 in the 38th over. Laura Delany retired on 76, and Lois Little smashed 68. For Thailand, Natthaya Boochatham picked up 3 wickets.
