Axe falls on PTV’s big-cheque contract employees

Pakistan Television has axed a number of contract employees, who were sitting on the key posts and drawing huge sums as salaries, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Monday.

Those employees who were dismissed include: Chief of News and Current Affairs Katrina Hussain, Chief Marketing Strategy Officer Khawar Azhar, Chief HR Officer Tahir Mushtaq, Executive Producer Current Affairs Khurram Anwar and GM Security M Nadeem Niazi.

Meanwhile, PTV also sacked Chief Technology Officer Nasir Naqvi. Two days ago, 24News TV has reported that Naqvi was sitting on Chief Technology Officer post despite he is not registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council.

Katrnia Hussain and Nasir Naqvi were drawing over Rs800000 in per month as salary.

Meanwhile, the PTV has also decided to remove eight officials from its Board of Directors.
