A team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday night carried out a raid on the house of Afzal Khokhar, former MNA of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The FIA conducted the raid on Malik Shafi Khokhar, Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar and Afzal Khokhar’s Khokhar Palace residence in Lahore’s Johar Town neighbourhood late Sunday night.
Speaking to 24NewsHD TV, Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar said his family was being politically victimised and punished for standing by PML-N patron Nawaz Sharif’s narrative. He said that FIA’s vehicles were parked outside his house as he was speaking to the news channel. He however said he was not afraid of such tactics.
The FIA has opened an investigation against the Khokhar brothers for their alleged involvement in money laundering and land grabbing and summoned them on December 7 (Monday). Before the FIA probe, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had launched an investigation into the charges against the PML-N former lawmakers for alleged illegal land transfer and grabbing.
