Another police encounter in Karachi has turned out to be ‘fake’ as SHO Azam Gopang of Korangi-5 area has been suspended while Tauheed, his colleague, who was involved in the alleged encounter, has been arrested along with his private partner, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
On the other hand, it has come to light that Arsalan Mehsud, a 14-year-old boy, who was killed in the ‘encounter’, was the son of an office-bearer of Dumper Association Haji Liaquat.
Police have also recovered licensed weapons from Tauheed and his accomplice, who were both mounted on a bike in plainclothes when they opened fire at Arsalan.
The deceased boy’s father has told media that his son was an intermediate student and he was returning home after attending his tuition classes.
DIG West Nasir Aftab has said that the incident did not take place at any police check-post. “The inquiry committee will soon submit its findings,” he added.
